Become a key member of this highly valued in-house legal team of one of the State’s most important strategic infrastructure managers.

Our Client

Our client is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join its close-knit in-house legal team You will have 5 years + experience in front-end construction law from a reputable firm, corporate or government organisation as well as experience in broader general corporate/commercial matters.

The Role

The role will see you work in an autonomous, self-driven and collaborative manner as a member of Legal Services in ensuring that our client’s operations are conducted within the prescribed legal and statutory limits and that its rights are fully protected by the provision of quality legal counsel, risk management and systems guidance and will include;

· leading and reporting on complex legal matters, and supporting the General Counsel in providing independent and confidential advice as required to the management team and other members of staff;

· drafting contracts and advising on contract negotiations;

· advising on procurement and probity practices including review and advice regarding Expressions of Interest, Tenders and Requests for Quotes;

· providing legal and strategic advice on regulatory and statutory interpretation issues;

· effectively delegating tasks to the Legal Counsel and providing appropriate guidance and supervision.
