The Opportunity

Right now, we have a fantastic opportunity for a WHS Business Partner (Fixed term full-time for 12 months) to work with the Traffic Management Centre and Transport Coordination area of TfNSW.

The role involves leading and managing safety professionals by providing knowledge, advice and coaching across WHS legislation, policies and processes to to build a mature safety culture, influencing positive safety leader behaviours, preventing harm and achieving organisational objectives.

As there is travel involved in this role to the various sites across Sydney the base location of the role is flexible

About you

We are looking for a WHS professional who is an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills who has experience working for an organisation with a large and complex matrix environment, as you will need to understand the range of contexts and legislative requirements. Used to working with a variety of stakeholders you will be liaising with those external and internal to the organisation including interaction with TfNSW Project Managers, Emergency Services providers, Contract Relationship Managers, Contractors and other TfNSW staff and colleagues.

You will be resilient, reliable, flexible, knowledgeable, a true team player with the ability to work autonomously and in a partnership capacity. As an influencer you will be able to guide and assist stakeholders by building and maintaining strong relationships while achieving business objectives and aligning WHS activities to the relevant legislation and ensuring compliance with standards.

Experience of WHS in the emergency services and construction industry-particularly infrastructure projects, is highly desirable, as the focus of this role is partnering with stakeholders from the emergency services arena and small infrastructure and maintenance programs.

A background in emergency management would definitely be an advantage.

Your extensive experience in in designing, implementing, monitoring and reporting on WHS programs, including WHS inspections and audits will be utilised in a hands-on capacity as you will be working with a direct report on a number of projects in addition to the maintenance of current assets.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is USS Grade 11 ($142,300 - $151,837) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
