Molycop's twelve grinding media operations are strategically located around the world to service the growing global mining industry, particularly in copper, gold, and iron ore sectors. Molycop’s locations are in Chile, Peru, Mexico, USA, Canada, Indonesia, Spain, and Australia.

The Railway Wheels & Forge business is an industry leader in high-performance rail wheels, axles and wheelsets, and has the ability to deliver its Comsteel range of products to both domestic and international markets.

The Molycop Australia business employs around 600 staff and wages roles across operations in Waratah, Newcastle and Bassendean, Perth and competes in the global market with its' world class Rail and Grinding Media products. Molycop is seeking an experienced and motivated Electrician on 6-month fixed term contract to work within the maintenance team in the Rail Maintenance department at Waratah. This role is an integral component of the maintenance team’s success and responsible for servicing a variety of plant and equipment in both preventative and reactive repair work.

The day to day duties include performing planned maintenance, installations, responding to plant breakdowns, along with a variety of ad-hoc tasks. You will be required to conduct effective fault finding and problem solving on all electrical and instrumentation equipment, with the ability to prioritise tasks to manage downtime to a minimum. 

This is a day-work position (Monday-Friday), however the successful candidate will be required to work some shift relief on a 7-day rotating roster.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Safety as a core belief with a solution seeking attitude
  • Experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment
  • Industrial process instrumentation and HV/LV experience would be an advantage.
  • Trouble shooting experience
  • PLC fault finding and modifications
  • Ability to read schematics and plans
  • Cert III Electrotechnology and Electrical Licence
