The Opportunity:

We’re all here to help deliver greater retirement outcomes for our members. Your role supports UniSuper by helping us to design, support and maintain a state of the art Splunk Cloud environment, that is utilised by our Security and IT Operations teams. You will help drive the use of Splunk throughout the organisation and ensure that all changes to the platform are in line with best practise. In this role you will help set our three-year Splunk strategy, as well as capacity plan our licensing and hardware needs.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all BAU and project work is appropriately costed for data ingestion across security and monitoring use cases, and proactively identify areas for license optimisation.

You will help develop best practise guidelines and documentation that will be executed by yourself and our team of Splunk analysts.

You will help champion the organisations training in Splunk, including running Splunk user groups, training sessions, and deep dives with our technology and business teams.

You will own the translation of the Information Security Strategy & Technology Monitoring Strategy into real world Splunk use cases and strategic technical applications.

Key Responsibilities:
* Development and Execution of a three-year Splunk strategy
* Development of best practise documentation and guidelines for BAU Splunk operation
* Development of standard project artefact templates
* Hosting internal Splunk training, user groups and forums to ensure UniSuper get’s the best value from Splunk as a platform
* Splunk license optimisation & capacity planning
* Help translate Security & IT Operation strategic goals to technical outcomes in Splunk
* Provide ongoing training and guidance to those that use Splunk, to maximise it’s value

To be successful you will ideally possess:
* Splunk Certified Architect
* Strong experience in using and architecting Splunk for Security AND IT Operational use cases
* Experience with managing Splunk 4+ years
* Any experience with Splunk premium apps such as Splunk ES or ITSI is not required, but would be welcomed
* 5+ years in IT infrastructure, networking, architecture, administration, or security
* Experience working in a multiserver environment
* Experience with creating scheduled and ad-hoc reporting using Splunk
* Experience with Extraction, Transformation, and loading of data, including SPL and Regex
* Knowledge of SIEM technologies and event collection mechanisms in Windows and Linux operating environments
* Experience with a cloud based Splunk deployment
* Exposure to Splunk ITSI highly desirable (Ideally ITSI certified)
* Past leadership experience highly desirable
