Our client is a major piling subcontractor based in Sydney's inner west. We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager who not only has great experience and qualifications, but who will also be a team player and effectively promote a "Safety Culture" across the organisation.
Projects will be throughout Sydney and on major building and infrastructure projects, and the Safety Manager will work to ensure all projects are being above board and according to the evolving HSE Legislation.
Role Responsibilities:
- Implementing WHS policies, systems, strategies etc.
- Continuous monitoring of safety policy effectiveness
- Promoting and driving forward a "culture of safety" within the organisation
- Support & Coordination of project-specific HSE policies
- Carry out relevant HSE training & programs for new and existing employees and visitors
- Health & Safety audits / inspections
- Identify & eliminate workplace hazards
- Support leadership to implement safety training
- Implement fire safety prevention procedures
- Ensure HSE contractual obligations are met & any areas communicated appropriately
- Maintain a record of HSE legislation, documents and statistics
- Carry out Return to Work R2W responsibilities
- Ensure subcontractors adhere to company HSE policies and procedures
- Regularly report safety performance to Leadership teams
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent OR Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Engineering, Project Management or other associated disciplines - Desired
- ISO45001 Lead Auditor Health and Safety Management Systems Qualification and ICAM Lead Investigator
- High Risk civil project experience
- Experience in Health & Safety Management techniques and tools.
- Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects.
- Advanced skills in relevant computer software packages; use of basic functions of word processing, spread sheet and email software.
- Ability to conduct and interpret audits and reviews
