The role

The Associate ILS/Logistics Engineer is responsible for supporting the development of reliability, availability and maintainability models, logistics engineering and logistics analysis activities in support of system support designs. The position will report to the Head of Discipline - ILS and will rotate across our Maritime, Land and Civil Solutions groups as required.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Support the ILS team with logistics engineering and analysis tasks for acquisition and sustainment projects, as follows:
  • Reliability, maintainability and availability modelling and analysis
  • Failure mode, effects and criticality analysis
  • Reliability centred maintenance analysis
  • Level of repair analysis
  • Maintenance task analysis
  • Spares modelling and analysis
  • Obsolescence management and analysis
  • PHS&T analysis
  • Item Codification
  • Assist in preparation of ILS documentation and plans
  • Assist in providing logistics engineering input into system engineering planning and HW design and implementation
  • Providing input to equipment maintenance manuals and training development
This role will suit a recent graduate or early career candidate seeking to gain hands on defence engineering experience under close guidance from Saab's team of industry experts.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Mathematical Sciences, other relevant qualifications, or equivalent on the job experience.
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering principles
  • Understanding of reliability and maintainability (R&M) modelling
  • Understanding of statistical probability methods
  • Understanding of the development and the inter-relation of Support System elements
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with the ability to contribute as part of a team
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain clearance to an NV1 level.
