The Opportunity -
Boeing Defence Australia's Aerospace Engineering & Production Capability provides people, expertise, process and tools to manage aircraft design, repair and continuing airworthiness capabilities supporting program execution and growth opportunities. Forward looking, the team has developed a Capability Plan to meet our defence customers' evolving needs, both in Australia and internationally.
Our engineers deliver modification, repair and continuing airworthiness services to support Defence's Boeing-managed aircraft fleets and complex communication systems. We work hand-in-hand with our customers to develop and deliver critical capabilities to support their mission now and into the future.
We are seeking a Principal Aviation Mechanical Engineer to support the world class Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) system; the E-7 Wedgetail.

This role is based at RAAF Base Williamtown, Newcastle.
Responsibilities -
- Providing technical leadership of Continuing Airworthiness Management (Part M) engineering activities including design review, assessing engineering changes and engineering investigations relating to E-7 aircraft structures, flight characteristics, mechanical systems and weight and balance.
- Providing mentoring to the multi-discipline team as well as review, approve and release of engineering artefacts within the Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR) environment.
- Leading Engineering initiatives as required.
- Proven extensive experience in aircraft design/repair methodologies, aircraft mechanical systems and aviation engineering processes.
- Experience working within an aviation regulatory system.
- Hold a tertiary degree qualification in Mechanical or Aeronautical engineering satisfying the requirements for membership with Engineers, Australia (IEAust).
- Be eligible to access data under Global Trade Control requirements.
