How will I help?

Reporting to the Test Director, the Quality Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of Defect Management across a large transformation program, from the lifecycle stage of System Testing through to final release implementation.

In this role, you will perform the following duties and produce the following deliverables.

  • Develop and implement a Defect Management Plan (DMP), perform the Defect Management process according to the DMP.
  • Oversee production and distribution of the consolidated CSH Daily, Weekly and End of Release Defect Reports.
  • Oversee the Defect Triage process and run the Daily Defect SITMAN which will allocate all high priority defects fixes to the appropriate development team.
  • Perform follow up of the assigned high priority defects and ensure they are resolved within predefined SLA’s (documented in the DMP).
  • Run the Defect Stocktake sessions in the leadup to each production release.
  • Perform root cause analysis on defects post-Release and drive related process improvement actions, also develop and publish a Defect Dashboard for the program.

What do I need?

  • Experience in quality engineering and defect management would be ideal.
  • Excellent communication skills and a “nice but firm” communication style.
  • A good understanding processes involved in defect management.
  • Banking industry exposure would be good to have, experience within the manufacturing and defence industries will be highly regarded.
