About The Role

Reporting to the Superintendent of Governance and Technical Stewardship, you will be responsible for providing specialist technical expertise to the operation. This will involve the execution of tasks associated with providing engineering technical support and ensuring a robust risk and benefit based assessment process is followed for engineering applications.

This role is based at our Peak Downs Mine site on a 5/2 roster. The successful candidate will have flexible options, or can also select to live residentially in the nearby town of Dysart or Moranbah in subsidised accommodation.

In This Role You Will

  • Work in a highly respected team with a culture of helpfulness and trust to create value
  • Provide specialist civil/structural engineering expertise and ensure robust change control processes and documentation standards are followed
  • Govern and control the structural integrity management program
  • Participate in reviews and audits and collaborate with discipline engineers across BMA
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to solve complex problems
  • Develop and contribute to the delivery of improvement initiatives which support business priorities for continuous improvement
  • Support and govern the accurate maintenance of the Operation's blue print (engineering standards, specifications drawings, processes, systems and procedures), ensuring approved modifications of its plant, equipment and infrastructure
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with relevant departments, suppliers, consultants and contractors
  • Support the integrated delivery of projects by the site Engineering team, asset projects or major projects group as required
  • Contribute to the development of the site's five year capital and operational budgets
  • Ensure Safety, Constructability, Operability and Maintainability is preserved throughout the design lifecycle process

About You

As a degree qualified Civil/Structural Engineer, ideally with or working towards CPEng or RPEQ status, you can demonstrate extensive experience delivering projects within a mining or heavy industrial environment in either an operational or design capacity. Your excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills will allow you to assess and provide input to engineering improvement initiatives and built long lasting professional relationships across site and beyond.

Previous experience working in a matrix functional organization is highly desirable, as well as being collaborative team player, committed to delivering results and able to operate with a high level of autonomy.
