Our client operates a successful Shed and Patio construction company located in Wodonga. They are currently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate keen to join their team in a diverse role as a 1st year Carpentry Apprentice specializing in Sheds and Patio.

The Role

This role comes with a lot of variety and will expose you to all aspects of commercial and private construction, working with steel fabricated products; this is a fantastic opportunity to commence your trade with a well-established locally owned and operated company.

Your responsibilities will include;

  • Use carpentry tools and equipment
  • Plan and organise work
  • Read and interpret plans and drawings
  • Carry out measurements and calculations
  • Construct pre-fabricated sheds and patios - Factories, warehouses and private sheds.
  • Erection of steel fabrication and steel structures
  • Follow all safety guidelines and comply with all WHS legislation
What are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate will have the following;

  • Be prepared for physical work
  • Possess the ability to follow instructions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Take pride in workmanship
  • Be motivated and enthusiastic
  • Able to pass mandatory Drug and Alcohol testing
  • Be able to work well in a team situation.
  • Must hold a current WHS White Card
  • Valid current manual drivers licence
  • Current Working with Children’s Check or ability to obtain one
  • Commitment to completion of your apprenticeship

This is an opportunity to gain valuable hands on experience while working towards a Certificate III in Carpentry - CPC31912 while also undertaking competencies in Roof Plumbing and Small Business.

Working Full-Time Monday - Friday plus any required overtimes, you will be given time on the job to attend TAFE. You will also have the support of a Squad Mentor who will visit you on site on a regular basis throughout your Apprenticeship.
