Resourceful Recruitment are proud to have partnered exclusively with a successful ASX listed metals producer to assist in sourcing a Senior Mining Engineer for their gold mine in regional NSW. This Australian mining and exploration company wholly own and operate three underground mines on the East Coast of Australia, along with advanced exploration activities in the region.

As a Senior Mining Engineer your core responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the execution of the mine planning function
• Monitor the quality and progress of excavations against the weekly and quarterly schedules
• Driving improvement in the Mine Planning team
• Engaging with Production staff to ensure plans are being executed as per design
• Contribute productively in an acting capacity as required as a member of the Technical Services Department Leadership Team
• Supervise the Mine Production Engineering functions of short term scheduling, drill and blast, and mine ventilation so that plans are safe, practical and efficient
• Assist in the day to day management of the UG mining contractor

Required Skills & Experience

• Valid work visa, permanent residency or Australian citizenship
• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering
• Knowledge of short to medium term mine planning requirements
• Understanding of longhole stoping drill and blast techniques
• Interest and ability to gain NSW Mining ticket
• Minimum 7 years experience with 2 years leading a team in underground mining
• Proficient in the utilisation of specialist mining software – Deswik
