CLIENT

Linum Consult's client is a world leader in specialist construction, with a particular focus on deep foundations, diaphragm walls, and ground improvement works. Due to continued growth in the Asia Pacific Region, they are currently looking to hire a Business Development Engineer for their Sydney office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participating in the specification and the implementation of the company's commercial strategy
• Promoting the values of the company, and developing strong relationships with existing and potential future clients and partners
• Ensuring that client organisations are aware of the company's capabilities
• Identifying project opportunities, establishing a strategy, and presenting them together with a key technical and commercial risk & opportunities register, to the company's management team
• Organising and leading the tendering process, including: understanding the clients' needs and detailing the winning scheme(s) with the support of the technical team; managing and coordinating actions from other supporting departments (technical, contractual, legal); preparing the detailed pricing study; benchmarking the project's estimated price with previous projects; and preparing and submitting the commercial and technical offer to the client
• Selecting partners and finalising partnership agreements
• Leading contract negotiations with the support of the legal team
• Preparing and handing over the detailed study of the project to the operations team
• Participating in the continuous development of the tendering department and the company

• Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
• At least 10 years of experience working for contractors or subcontractors on Ground Engineering/Foundations projects in Australia
• Previous experience of Business Development, Tendering, or Project Management
• A strong ability to network and negotiate, with excellent management skills
• Excellent technical writing skills in English
