Our work spans the complete life cycle of our products, from concept through to manufacture and support.

Who we’re looking for


Due to our ongoing growth and increasing number of design projects, we have a position available for a lead electronic design engineer to work on the development of new products.


We're looking for someone with a true passion for electronics who is committed to keeping up to date with latest available technologies for implementation into our products.


About the role


To be able to fulfill the requirements of this role, you will need a broad understanding of electronics engineering, with some specialised knowledge as well as the capacity to innovate.


Typically, you will be involved with:

  • Assisting in the quotation/proposal stage, by providing concept solutions and pricing
  • for tenders/quotations
  • Reviewing customer specifications and refining these to prepare a detailed
  • Start to finish design of electronic systems to specifications, including circuit design,
  • selection, and PCB layout
  • Preparation of verification and validation plans for the products designed
  • Ensuring compliance with appropriate railway standards for electronics
  • Supporting external lab certification of our products, where required, by documenting test plans
  • Hands-on assembly and testing of concept designs and prototype assemblies
  • Research and development of new products and technologies
  • Preparation of documentation for internal and customer requirements

About you


While a passion for electronics is a must, we are looking for someone who has the capacity to contribute to the success of our business through a combination of vision and practicality.


You will:

  • Have at least 8 years of professional electronic design experience
  • Have a suitable electronic engineering qualification
  • Have experience in designing for safety-critical systems will be highly regarded
  • Have had exposure to high power switch-mode power supplies and power control devices
  • Have experience with EMC and environmental testing, including in noncompliance resolution
  • Have extensive experience in analogue and high-speed digital design
  • Be familiar with the Altium software package
  • Be able to work without supervision
  • Work well in a team - our designs often involve multiple aspects (mechanical, electrical, etc).
  • Demonstrate advanced documentation skills
  • Have knowledge of business processes
  • Have experience with design for manufacturability/testing
  • Have embedded software experience
  • Experience working in a Systems Engineering (SE) environment
  • Enjoy mentoring other more junior hardware engineers
