The Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a trade qualified HD Fitter / Mobile Plant Mechanic to join our team based at Roy Hill as a Site Supervisor. This permanent role will allow you to access OEM training while you build a long-term career in a global company. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will work as part of a team and drive the reliability and availability of the mobile fleet while keeping an impeccable safety record. Main responsibilities include:
- Organising a team and ensuring they are following safety and operational procedures
- Staff rostering and Flight Management
- Providing assistance to Service Personnel and Parts and Service Advisors as required, helping with parts and technical concerns
- Identify areas for improvement and work with the customer to address any shortcomings
- Escalate all issues to relevant teams and within a timely manner
- At all times maintain an open communication and good working relationship with customers, peers and other departments
- Ensure that all interactions with internal and external customers and stakeholders is professional and courteous as you are required to continuously ‘Promote & Enhance’ Hitachi’s promise of Total Customer Satisfaction
This role will have you working a 5/2 roster, spending Monday to Thursday onsite with Friday in the Hitachi Forrestdale (Perth) branch.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Relevant Diesel or Mobile Plant Mechanic trade qualifications
- Previous experience in a leadership role with frontline operational experience with the desire to develop, influence and motivate a team of operational staff
- Working knowledge of planning and scheduling with the ability to deliver in tight timeframes
- Demonstrated background experience with Hitachi mobile equipment will be highly regarded
- Good communication and customer service skills and the ability to build long term relationships
- Safety focus and abide by site safety processes
