The role
This new and exciting role sits within the Building and Environmental Health Services team, leading the Fast Track Approvals Section. We are looking for a motivated and proactive leader to develop policy, procedures and customer engagement project plans. Our ideal candidate will have a high degree of self-motivation and drive, strong customer service values, and the desire to create a working environment that empowers the team to do their best work.
The Coordinator is responsible for managing the fast track small scale development applications, construction certificates and complying development certificates and fire safety services function, to ensure the achievement of outcomes in line with organisational and departmental strategies, objectives, vision and values.
This is a key leadership role that will drive fundamental change by finding new and innovative ways to employ a proactive customer focused approach in the provision of building related approvals, promote change initiatives and coach and support teams through change processes.
The person
- Tertiary qualification in Building Surveying or a similar field.
- A thorough understanding of the Local Government Act 1993, Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997, Food Act and Public Health Act 2010.
- A1 Accreditation with the Building Professionals Board.
- Extensive experience working in a senior role in as a building surveyor.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience, with the ability to motivate a team in the delivery of building and small scale approval services.
- Mentoring skills and experience.
- Well-developed report writing and analytical skills.
The package
Commencing salary circa $103,000.00 .p.a. plus superannuation.
Vehicle arrangements will also be discussed with the successful candidate.
Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way Taree. You may also be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Permanent Full Time.
