We are currently looking for Test & Evaluation Engineer to join our Advisory business, based in Canberra

QinetiQ has a pedigree in Test and Evaluation (T&E) both locally within Australia and Internationally. Due to the number of client opportunities, we are looking to grow our organisation and capability further within our Advisory Services area. We are therefore seeking to fill a number of T&E Engineering roles within the organisation.

As a T&E Engineer Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Developing and implementing the T&E framework for assigned projects
  • Developing and updating the Test and Evaluation Master Plans in support of respective Committee Reviews and Gates, and Government Approvals, as the assigned project progresses throughout the Capability Life Cycle (CLC)
  • Coordinating and conducting all T&E planning meetings, including T&E Working Groups and Readiness Reviews, etc.
  • Identification of resources supporting T&E activities
  • Completion of Trial closure activities
  • Liaison with other project staff and key stakeholders to coordinate all requirements for the conduct of Operational T&E (OT&E) activities
  • Supporting Integrated Project Teams (IPT) and Capability Boards through the provision of Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice on T&E activities
  • Leading the planning, conducting and reporting of trials in support of Preview T&E activities to inform capability and procurement decisions
  • Supporting the Project Manager/client representative through the provision of timely advice pertaining to funding, schedule and risk associated with T&E activities.
  • Contributing to the development of project-level planning activities
  • Mentoring more junior Test and Trials and T&E team members

To be successful in the role of Test & Evaluation Engineer you will require:
  • Degree qualified in Engineering or Science
  • High-level of understanding of T&E fundamentals, scoping and planning considerations, test methodologies, and test integrity and safety management across T&E phases including Preview T&E, Developmental T&E, Acceptance T&E and Operational T&E
  • Experience in the T&E domain on major capital acquisition projects in the Defence context
  • Experience with the Defence Strategic Framework, Defence Capability Life Cycle, and the related governance requirements
  • Experience with ATP&P review, Verification and Validation, and field testing
  • Member of a relevant Professional Body / Technical Society (e.g. Engineers Australia) - Desirable
  • Qualified T&E Practitioner with appropriate formal qualification - Desirable
  • Experience as a T&E Consultant on a major capital acquisition project in the Defence context – Desirable

Applicants MUST be eligible to obtain an Australian Government security clearance.
