Quality Technician / Junior Quality Engineer

Sunbeam is a well known Australian Home Appliances brand, now seeking a Quality Technician or a Junior Quality Engineer to be based at their Minto Distribution Centre. It is a 3 months contract role with real potential to go permanent. Immediate start!!

Reporting to Quality Manager, this position will:

• Deliver technical investigations on warranty returns.

• Drive root cause analysis of machine issues, identify and raise opportunities for product/process improvements through Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) process.

• Participate and contribute towards No Apparent Fault (NAF) reduction through providing technical insights on possible user errors and engineering design shortfalls.

• Provide technical expertise for machine technical issues and respond to consumer complaints

• Respond and escalate consumer incidents following business incidents and crisis management process and procedures.

• Conduct inbound audit as required to ensure stock meets specification and in compliance to Australian safety standards

• Implement product rework as required, help to deliver time studies and step instructions when rework is outsourced

The ideal candidate has a passion for delivering products that delight consumers and has an affinity for fault finding, problem solving, improving product quality and controls.

Required Education, Knowledge Skills:

• Tertiary (university or trade) qualification in Engineering – Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or other quality related area.

• Solid hands on ability, with experience in conducting visual inspection, electrical safety, functional and performance testing to product specifications.

• Demonstrated skills in problem solving, ability to diagnose faults to drive corrective actions.

• Experienced with or understanding of Continuous Improvement.

• Self-starter, reliable and able to complete tasks and deliver without supervision.

• Experience in technical reporting, with a minimum intermediate level of MS Office 365 skills in all applications.

Desired Education, Knowledge Skills:

• Demonstrated skills in data analytics and reporting, with proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and Access.

• Experience in small appliances.

• Understanding of Australian Consumer Law and Consumer Guarantee.

• Experience in incident management.

• Experience working with cross functional team.

• Forklift license, First Aider and / or Fire Warden will be highly regarded.

The position is workshop based in a warehouse environment, located in Minto NSW. Occasional travel to Botany office is required.

NSW Driver License and legal ability to work in Australia is a must.
