Known for major projects across Australia and the APAC region, this tier 1 civil company that has an impressive portfolio of civil construction projects in Victoria is looking for a Safety Manager to push safety change management across the entire project. Managing a large safety team with the autonomy to create effective change. You will be working on one of the most well respected and iconic projects in Victoria.

The Project

One of the iconic major projects in Victoria incorporating heavy civil and buildings. The Safety Manager will be involved in the ‘buildings’ stage of the project. 

The role

Reporting to the Safety Director for the project, your new role will see you work across the safety space for one of Victoria’s most iconic projects. Your major responsibilities include:

  • Facilitation and running of safety workshops across a wide range of disciplines;
  • Managing a team of support staff and Safety Advisors
  • Facilitation, management, delegation, preparation, and distribution of safety workshop outputs.
  • Working collaboratively with all stakeholders for the project.
  • Reporting to senior management;
  • Communication of HSEQ system policies and processes.
  • Ensure the project maintains a strong risk management processes, ability and focus in relation to safety.
  • Maintain comprehensive safety records, manage statutory reporting requirements and monitor safety performance progress across the project.

Skills Required

  • Experience with large buildings within the commercial space.
  • Advanced Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Safety Lead Auditor Qualification
  • Experience within the civil and buildings space
  • Full drivers license
  • Strong understanding of latest OH&S legislation
  • Minimum 10 years of HSE experience in a similar role
  • Be very well presented, you will be dealing with clients
  • Proven experience working on infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent communication & IT skills
