Engineering Design Officer

Our Engineering Strategy & Assets portfolio undertakes a wide range of engineering and construction projects in order to deliver on our commitment to enhancing our City.

The Engineering Design Officer will be responsible for the preparation of concept and consultation plans; design drawings for a variety of minor capital works projects using AutoCAD and 12d software; as well as providing support to the other design officers and assisting in the production of accurate and timely documentation, calculations and estimates. In addition, the position will involve maintaining the CAD Blocks and technical standards, as well as providing assistance to the Engineering Surveyor in the production of engineering field surveys as required.

The successful candidate will be mentored by senior designers and display an appetite to learn and apply learned engineering principle, practices and techniques to the assigned tasks. They will have a positive attitude and an innovative approach to deliver quality design outcomes, and customer service that meets business and community goals and expectations.

A sound knowledge of computer aided drafting, particularly in the use of AutoCAD and 12d, is essential and a certificate in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification is desirable. Civil Engineering Graduates and 4th Year undergraduates are encouraged to apply.

This position is available as an initial fixed-term contract up until 30 June 2021, however there is the possibility of extension.
