We have an opportunity for a suitably experienced Civil Engineering Draftsperson to join our developing and growth focused team located in Kwinana, Western Australia. You will play a key role in the success of our projects and supporting our project managers.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the role will encompass all aspects of concept design and quality control. The Draftsperson is required to work with staff to draft the design concepts that are developed for a project.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in following industry areas:

  • Civil Construction
  • Industrial Commercial
  • Building and Construction Projects
  • Demolition

Job Tasks And Key Responsibilities
  • Producing drawings using computer assisted drafting systems (CAD), specifically Autocad and Archicad
  • Drafting plans and detailed drawings for structures, installations, and construction projects, working from sketches or notes
  • Conducting field surveys, inspections or technical investigations to obtain data required to revise construction drawings.
  • Scheduling and estimation of construction tasks.
  • Managing project schedules, costs and risks.
  • Be familiar with MRWA and Austroads standards and requirements and the application and effect on projects.
  • Knowledge of stormwater systems and the requirements of varying Councils and Shires and their application to design and construction.

Technical / Computer Skills required to be considered for this position:
  • Archicad 21
  • Autocad 2D
  • Autocad Civil 3D
  • Revit
  • Photoshop
  • Office 365 Suite

Experience and personal attributes required to be considered for this position:
  • Have at least 3 years' Australian experience in the required industries
  • Diploma in Civil Construction Design
  • Understanding and working knowledge of metropolitan and NW design guidelines and standards
  • Ability to meet tender deadlines and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Document control
  • Advanced excel, word and numerical skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with a diverse range of stakeholders, and strong negotiator.
  • Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised, prioritise multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines all while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
  • Current WA Drivers Licence with own transport
  • Completed CPCCCM2009A Carry Out Basic Demolition Training (Preferred)
  • Completed Restricted Asbestos Licence Training – RAL1 (Preferred)
