MMD Australia Pty Ltd is a privately owned progressive organisation with offices in Brisbane (Narangba), Mackay, Singleton and Perth. To support our strategy for future growth and expansion we are looking to recruit additional members as part of our projects team.

The ideal candidate would be a self-motivated, conscientious person with great communication skills, have a broad based understanding of heavy engineering, materials handling, modelling, 2D drafting and scheduling. This role is an integral addition in support of our further expansion and continued progression into the Australian market.

Reporting to the Projects Manager, the core responsibilities of the role involve planning, designing, organising, overseeing the assembly, design, erection and maintenance (as required) of mechanical and process plant and installations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review and compile tender packages;
  • Prepare conceptual plant and equipment proposals;
  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate, monitor and cost control assigned engineering projects;
  • Sub-vendor engagement and negotiation;
  • Executing project specific deliverables;
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications;
  • Liaise with clients to interpret their specifications, expectations and requirements;
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with Projects Manager and other project stakeholders to provide assistance and technical support;
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with MMD’s mission statement;
  • Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience

  • Proven working experience in a projects environment;
  • Background in the mining industry (run-of-mine crushing/sizing/screening) is highly desirable, with exposure to plant and equipment layouts;
  • Mechanical engineering qualification (degree or diploma);
  • Familiar with manufacturing methods, techniques and procedures;
  • Knowledge and experience on computer aided design software (SolidWorks® and AutoCAD® skills essential)
