About our team
SIMEC Mining, a member of GFG Alliance, has operations in SA and NSW. Our iron ore mining operations in South Australia’s Middleback Ranges, south of Whyalla, consist of three primary mine sites: Iron Baron, Iron Knob and the South Middleback Ranges. Iron Ore administration functions, pellet processing and shipping facilities are located within the city limits of Whyalla.

About the role
The Pellet Plant is currently looking to take on an Electrical Fitter. The role will support the Electrical Maintenance Team in safely maintaining the condition and production capacity of the plant operations.
Key responsibilities will be:
- Execute approved maintenance strategies and scheduling of the works
- Identify opportunities for improved asset performance and recommend appropriate changes to support plant performance
- Provide technical support for all electrical issues and standardise the plant, equipment, services and systems where practical
About your experience
We are looking for a tradesperson with a can do attitude, and are open to all levels of experience.
You will have:
- Electrical trade certificate, or nearing completion of a certificate.
- Understanding of safety procedures used when maintaining fixed plant.
- Experience in fixed plant maintenance within mining is preferable
- Fitting experience would be an advantage
- Understanding of maintenance principles and plant improvement processes
