Junior Linux Engineer

Cube Networks are looking for a Junior Engineer with a passion for everything Linux. If you have kicked off your career and found that you have been drawn to the world of Linux over Microsoft and want to see how far the rabbit hole goes then this could be the opportunity for you.


We are looking to bring in someone with a strong base knowledge and understanding of Linux systems and networks to oversee and support our clients who have a Linux precense in thier environment. You don't neccesarily need to be an expert just be keen on learning more and driven to do so, you will recieve training, support and guidence in order to develop you into an SME. Strong customer service skills will also be a requirement.


Understanding or experience of the following will be beneficial but not crequired:



  • Unix, Linux, Solaris
  • Red Hat 6 and 7 systems through Red Hat satellite
  • Cluster for oracle database (Sun cluster 3.2,3.3,4.0)
  • Experience of incorporating third party applications in Red Hat satellite
  • Experience on Solaris P2v migrations on Sun4u architecture hardware
  • Implementation of Red Hat Linux servers through Red Hat satellite
  • Patching of Linux servers
  • Networking across Linux
  • BAU support across Linux systems
  • Experience with or Knowledge of JAMF and Casper
  • Prioritise work according to SLA requirements
  • Pushing Puppet modules to clients
