About us

The School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering delivers undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and high-quality research in civil and mechanical engineering. Curtin is recognised internationally as a leader in graduate research studies and for the breadth and quality of its research higher degree programs and offers Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.


Your new role

The School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering is seeking professional engineers to join teaching teams in the Disciplines of Civil, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering. 

The successful candidates will collaborate with other academic staff to develop and deliver teaching within the Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Professional Engineering programs, and will supervise student research and design projects with particular industry relevance. Discipline expertise in one of the following areas would be an advantage: construction engineering, transportation engineering, robotics, automation, mechanical engineering design or manufacturing.

We are interested to receive applications from all suitable applicants who are interested to expand their career within territory education. We are also flexible with the part time fraction arrangement for each role.

Experience required (selection criteria):

  • At least ten years’ experience in engineering industry in an area relating to Civil, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering, with evidence of participation in a technical role
  • A demonstrated capability for developing and delivering teaching in technical, professional or academic domains.
  • Desired: Chartered status with a professional engineering body is highly desired.
  • Desired: Experience in conducting or managing industry R&D projects.
  • Desired: A PhD related to engineering
