Despite the recent COVID-related hiccup in WA, the construction market is still cruising along at a fair pace with a number of clients recruiting personnel for upcoming and existing projects.

But For Those Who Are Thinking Of Applying But Aren't Sure

Among current requirements there is a need for experienced HSE Advisors with civil construction experience. If you've performed a role like this before, you'll know what is required......

• Experience on remote civil construction projects - YOU MUST HAVE WORKED WITH A CONTRACTOR
• Minimum Cert IV OH&S and ideally Cert IV TAE (upgraded)
• You must know your way around heavy plant & machinery - awareness of potential hazards, exclusion zones, excavation etc (these roles are based around bulk earthworks & heavy civil construction and all associated types of work)
• Demonstrated history of performing incident/injury management, reporting (lag & lead indicators), return to work, pre-starts, Take 5's and so on..........if you're suitable for the role, you won't need me to list them.
• You MUST be in WA and be willing to do a 2/1 FIFO roster
• Ideally you'd be able to start ASAP (within a couple of weeks)

It gets said a lot but these opportunities are with businesses that have a genuine interest in maintaining a strong safety culture. Productivity remains key, but injury (or worse) is catastrophic in many ways, so keeping the workforce safe and healthy is paramount. Therefore, we need people who understand how to keep a site safe AND productive.
