JOB DESCRIPTION

A fantastic opportunity is available for a Trade assistant to join this established company and work within our highly resourced workshop assisting a great team of skilled, experienced, and respectable tradesmen in meeting the company’s manufacturing and client deadlines
Queensland Hydraulics has been operating from its Brisbane headquarters for over 45 years serving some of the largest public and private organisations Australia wide across sectors including: water infrastructure and security, mining, oil and gas, defence, aviation, marine, and food production. We offer full turnkey hydraulic solutions that include design, manufacture, installation, commissioning, and maintenance as well as a proprietary range of hydraulic cylinders designed and built to international standards. We also provide a hydraulic cylinder repair and precision machining service
The position is predominantly workshop based however once fully trained and competent, onsite work will form a small portion of the role, which includes:
Workshop/Operations
Assisting tradesmen and learning all facets of the workshop (boiler making, machining, cnc operation, spray painting)
Maintaining a safe and hazard free work environment
Disassembly and assembly work as required
Paint stripping hydraulic cylinders
Painting hydraulic cylinders according to company’s QA standard
Pressure testing hydraulic cylinders as required
Accepting all incoming workshop deliveries
Collection of raw materials and orders from suppliers
Preparing and packaging completed jobs suitably for shipping
Managing workshop floor space, so manufacturing and machine work is not disrupted
Forklift operation
General cleaning duties

The successful candidate will be required to have the following attributes to be considered this role:
Essential
Successfully completed year 12 and have competent results in English and Maths and demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Current manual drivers’ licence
Strong work ethic and capable of working unsupervised
Physically fit
Team player
Being honest, punctual, reliable and respectful
Attention to detail and customer focused
