Based in Townsville, you will be responsible for Performing Engineering functions in relation to railway signalling and operational systems throughout Queensland Rail.

About The Role
- Ensure the effective management and delivery of signalling maintenance services including minor and major renewals, in accordance with Queensland Rail's standards and statutory obligations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the signal maintenance teams to ensure operational reliability and availability of the signalling system.
- Conduct signal engineering checks, tests, and inspections as required.
- Provide recommendations for renewal opportunities of the signalling asset as an outcome of the signal engineering inspections with consideration to asset condition.
- Provide analysis of signalling related reports and other data and provide mitigation actions to address any negative signalling performance trends.
- Investigation and report of major signalling incidents with a signalling input, as required.
- Participate in Queensland Rail's major signalling projects and other duties as requested.
- Substantial level of skill in delivering signal engineering solutions to meet operational requirements and deliver commercial value in at least one area of signal engineering practice, design, analysis and evaluation, asset management, infrastructure maintenance, construction and supervision, inspection/assessment/auditing, commissioning and research and development.
- Substantial knowledge of signalling infrastructure and systems.
- Substantial knowledge of Queensland Rail's signalling standards and procedures and statutory obligations.
- Substantial knowledge of signalling maintenance management.
- Sound level of skill in oral communication and in writing clear concise technical reports for managerial, technical and non-technical persons.
- Sound level of skill in communicating with technical and non-technical staff coupled with strong problem-solving skills.
- Sound level of skill in planning and organising self and others as required.
- Knowledge of and willingness to commit to and work within Queensland Rail's Values and Behaviours.
Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronics)
Minimum 5 years’ Signal Engineering experience, experience in Maintenance Engineering is desirable but not essential.
