Spinifex are working with a Renewable Energy Company to source an Electrician for a permanent contract to serve as a maintenance technician on a Solar Farm in the Winton (VIC) location.

The Electrical Site Technician will be reporting directly to the Site Supervisor and being responsible for site preventative and corrective maintenance tasks. The Site Technician will complete daily AC and DC electrical systems maintenance tasks as well as maintenance tasks on all mechanical systems of the solar farm. The Site Technician will also work in collaboration with and supervise the works of subcontractors and suppliers carrying out corrective action or defect rectifications.

The Site Technician will be required to work diligently within Health, Safety, Quality and Environment systems, maintaining the power plant to a high standard and interacting with all stakeholders in a professional manner.

Key Requirements of the role;

  • Perform plant maintenance as per the O&M plan.
  • Ensure plant troubleshooting by critically evaluating problems which may arise in the photovoltaic system, undertake a technical investigation, if required, provide and implement a technically sound solution to the problem(s).
  • To carry out O&M electrical tasks such as electrical inspections, preventative maintenance, electrical checks, and thermo graphic inspections.
  • To carry out O&M monitoring tasks such as inspections and maintenance of weather station and communication equipment.
  • To complete daily reports as required by the O&M Plant Manager.
  • Ensure sites are operating at full power and with the efficiency required. Site conditioning and Alarm response as needed.
  • Support SCADA Operator in plant performance analysis and providing the necessary information to draft weekly and monthly reports.

Technical Experience;

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a related position
  • Experience in Solar O&M or EPC highly desirable.
  • Operation, inspection and preventative maintenance of power station and ancillary plant.
  • A sound knowledge of electrical power systems design, construction, operation or maintenance, and experience
  • Experience using electronic control systems (SCADA) preferred
  • Highly experienced in using and understanding testing and diagnostic equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.)
  • Experience in the AC and DC electrical installations of a solar farm desirable
  • A sound knowledge of electrical power systems design, construction, operation or maintenance, and experience

To be successful for this role you will hold an Australian Electrical License - (preferably licensed in the State of employment - VIC) with HV qualification highly desirable.
