We are a leading supplier of hydrographic, oceanographic and seismic exploration equipment within Australia and throughout South East Asia. The business was established in 1959.

We are currently seeking a suitably qualified Electronics Technician/Workshop Engineer for a full time position based in our Brisbane offices, but with occasional travel requirements throughout Australia and South East Asia. We are looking for an experienced person with extensive experience in repairing and testing communications and other electronics based instrumentation.

The candidate should be very technically minded with a strong core understanding of electronics and with a knowledge of Seismic/Hydrographic/Navigation systems being a distinct advantage.

The Responsibilities Of The Role Include

  • Maintain, repair and test all electronics equipment that comes through the company to check that it is in good condition and operates in accordance with the manufacturers specifications;
  • Check all returning rental equipment for damage and test for proper operation prior to it being placed in storage;
  • Repair, calibrate and maintain records of third party equipment sent into the electronic workshop for that purpose;
  • Ensure test equipment is properly calibrated;
  • Provide field services to customers as required, the extent of such requirements, which could include interstate and overseas travel, will depend on the customer contract situations at any particular time;
  • Provide advice and assistance as appropriate to management;
  • Keep abreast of new software and equipment through familiarisation and training;
The ideal candidate for this role will be highly motivated and have:
  • Recognised technical qualifications preferably in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnology or Communications;
  • Extensive experience in repairing and testing a broad range of electronic based instrumentation. Experience with hydrographic and oceanographic equipment a distinct advantage;
  • Experience working with business to business in a technical sales environment and quickly develop practical technical knowledge and understanding of our range of hydrographic systems;
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional well presented manner;
  • Ability to show previous experience in achieving the highest customer satisfaction & in-field support;
