We are currently looking to appoint a Resurfacing Engineer to join our Rail team in Rutherford/Seven Hills, reporting to the Project Manager Hunter valley and Resurfacing.

Responsibilities of the role include;

  • Managing tenders and relationships to ensure successful delivery of projects
  • Ensuring that the tender is financially viable, margin expectations achievable and risk complies with corporate guidelines
  • Upon award, assign and manage resources to deliver the projects within budget, time and HSQE standards
  • Reviewing progress against delivery milestones and take effective remedial action as required.
  • Strong commercial acumen must be demonstrated, ensuring strong contract, commercial and financial risk management is understood and controlled, providing accurate forecasting of both costs and revenue.
  • You will typically manage multiple projects in line with John Holland strategic growth plans.
  • Ensure that stakeholders (both internal and external) are actively engaged, ensuring John Hollands interest are best represented in all dealings with.
  • You must lead the team and play a key role in developing an engaged, committed culture utilising internal subject matter experts and external designers, vendors and sub-contractors delivering financially viable projects.
Where appropriate, develop and modify work processes, technology, or products Identify commercial innovations to positively differentiate JH from competitors

To be successful in this key role, you must have:
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of construction project management in the rail sector with a strength in resurfacing operations.
  • Proven experience in business development and client relationship management skills, delivery of programs of work, management and leadership of teams.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively to drive positive outcomes with key stakeholders.
  • Experience of working within Rail construction and operations in the Sydney, Newcastle and Hunter regions is highly desirable.
