Source: uWorkin

The company

A specialist urban development consulting firm operating across Victoria. An employee owned company offering flexibility, a supportive learning environment and autonomy to manage your own projects. Leaders who encourage development of others and who are recognised in the industry for doing so.

This is a business of circa 35 staff who operate within a very colaborative and close-knit group. They offer a variety of water solutions to Catchment Management Authorities, VicRoads and other state bodies, regional and local councils as well as developers and other private sector clients. Their work is technically sound and delivered to ensure an excellent practical result too.

The reason for the vacancy
The group is growing. They have an expanding project portfolio in their offices in Melbourne’s south east and seek an additional team member to join on a permanent basis.

The solution you will create
You’ll be assisting with the completion of projects in the service water and groundwater space. 50% of this groups’ work is based around sub-divisions varying from 5 lots to 1000s of lots. There’s also a range of other work around groundwater, hydrology and hydraulics which ensures a varied portfolio for everyone.

Day to day requirements

  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modelling
  • Create WSUD solutions
  • Ensure that tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client
  • Proactively collaborate with appropriate team members, contributors and stakeholders
Skills and expertise required from you:
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering
  • Experience of delivering technical projects within a consultancy environment both in a Design and Modelling capacity
  • Experienced with a range of modelling software including MUSIC, HEC-RAS
  • Excellent report writing skills
What’s in it for you?

This role is best suited to someone wishing to join a land develoment group. You’ll either be looking for a step into a more niche role (perhaps you’ve come from a larger multi-disciplinary group) with a tighter service offering and greater emphasis on all things ‘water’ or upwards into a more senior role.

The role suits someone with between 2 and 6 years’ experience.
