MMG Dugald River

Dugald River is fully owned by MMG Limited and is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc operation and is mined underground using diamond drilling techniques.

Dugald River is expected to produce around 170,000 – 180,000 tonnes of zinc in zinc concentrate annually. The operation employs around 500 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis.

The role: Project Engineer

Reporting to the Superintendent Engineering, the Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the Implementation of all site applicable Engineering Standards, driving engineering workflow management systems and ensuring the site is operated in a manner consistent with the regulatory and community license to operate.

This role will be based on an 8/6 roster. This role is available on a drive-in drive out basis (DIDO) from the Cloncurry or Mount Isa Districts. Relocation support will be available for successful candidates who reside outside of the local region who wish to relocate to the Cloncurry or Mount Isa districts. FIFO from Townsville is also available.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary Engineering qualifications in the appropriate discipline from a recognised institution

    • Mandarin/Spanish and/or French language skills
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment


Responsibilities Include
  • Managing major underground electrical capital projects.
  • Developing and promoting the use of common Engineering Standards & Specifications
  • Controlling engineering standards, specifications, programs and drawings from which an operations are designed, constructed, operated and maintained
  • Managing the Management of Modifications process. (MOC)
  • Providing engineering technical expertise and support as required.
  • Responsible in complying with site electrical standards and receiving directions from the site PCEW
  • Project management of assigned capital works maintain schedule and budget.
  • Providing key updates to all stakeholders
  • Identification of CAPX and OPEX opportunities
