About This Role

As the Cyber Security Architect, you will ensure the technology systems deployed by WesCEF are secure by design and ensure the design of applications, systems, infrastructure, and processes are compatible with the cyber security strategies across both IT and OT environments.

WesCEF is made up of a portfolio of businesses inclusive of digital retail, to heavy industry - production and manufacturing. The initial focus of this role will be to optimise existing infrastructure and systems taking into account the needs and use cases of these varied businesses. This incorporates setting foundations, designing solutions, documentation, drawings, and engaging with vendors while also working with technology teams to integrate new solutions efficiently across both IT and OT.

To be successful in this role you will be hands on in your approach and enjoy working closely with a range of internal customers. With stakeholders in both Murdoch (Head Office), and Kwinana (operations) you will be required to work between both locations.

As a Security Architect, you can expect to
  • Engage with project teams as part of our investment in new ERP solutions, to provide security recommendations and ensure the development of secure systems.
  • Refresh the risk view on existing security architecture, and take into account changes in the security landscape across IT and OT systems.
  • Assist with the design, deployment and management of new technology systems
  • Respond promptly and effectively to possible breaches of security
  • Build external networks consisting of industry peers, ecosystem partners, vendors, and other relevant parties to address common trends, findings, incidents, and cybersecurity risks
  • Monitor the security industry to gain knowledge and understanding of currently emerging technologies and threats
  • Assist with continuous development of security skills within the Cyber Security team and broader Technology teams to maintain strong standards across all technology assets


About You

You will have significant experience in the end-to-end security project life cycle – defining security requirements, high level architecture, detailed design & implementation; in combination with broad knowledge and experience across various cyber security domains. In addition you will possess
  • High level influencing skills across business and technical stakeholders along with the ability to communicate the complex in simple, accessible language;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop fit for purpose solutions to solve complex technical issues;
  • Experience with a minimum of one of
    • NIST Cyber Security Framework.
    • ACSC - Information Security Manual (ISM)
  • Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, SABSA, GIAC;
  • Knowledge of contemporary technology trends and developments e.g. cloud services, data science, and new applications with potential in an industrial environment;
  • Experience in business process development and change management methodologies will be highly regarded.
