The Opportunity

Our Perth Planning and Mobility / Advisory team have positions for all levels of Traffic / Transport Engineers, Transport Planners and Transport Modellers from Professional to Senior Principal Level to join our close-knit team on a permanent basis. The opportunity would challenge you in leading and growing our capability in WA and also present opportunities to contribute on projects nationally across Australia.

  • Lead projects (or project tasks) for a successful client outcome including technical contribution and review, risk management and budget and resource management.
  • Preparing or supporting, cost and review of bids/proposals.
  • Client focussed thinking to develop cost-effective and appropriate solutions that meet the needs of both public and/or private-sector clients.
  • Working with your Advisory and Planning colleagues and colleagues from other disciplines with a collaborative mindset.
  • Contributing to the continued growth of the team and coaching / mentoring / training junior staff so we can grow collectively.
  • Positively engaging with the team to contribute and grow our excellent culture
  • Developing new and maintaining existing client relationships.
Skills

We are therefore looking for people to possess (or are actively working towards) the following general skills / experience (noting that some are very much role specific)
  • Demonstrated competence in providing key technical expertise across a broad range of scale and type of projects.
  • Experience in working in the WA market with a current and active professional network.
  • Working knowledge of relevant design (national and local) standards and local planning processes
  • Experience in stakeholder management and communication, including meetings, presentations and workshops.
  • Experience in SIDRA and LinSig modelling packages. (Experience in other modelling packages such as Aimsun and/or VISSIM would be beneficial also.)
Qualifications/Requirements

WSP encourages and supports ongoing personal and professional development. To be successful in this position it is anticipated that you will possess the following qualifications / requirements.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (e.g. Engineering, Science, Planning, Economics, Geography) or Equivalent.
  • Proven year’s relevant experience in similar roles. Note there is no set years of experience required to respond to this role, as we are flexible in the position we appoint.
  • CPEng accreditation / working towards (highly desirable). WSP can provide support for this.
  • A commitment to safety in the workplace.
  • The right to work in Australia.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • A strong work ethic, self-starter and ability to relate well to both work colleagues within a team environment and external parties.
  • An attitude which proactively contributes to and participates in a team environment.
