We are seeking applications from experienced Verification and Validation Lead Engineer to join our team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Systems Assurance Manager, the successful candidate will Drive, plan and coordinate the overall Verification and Validation of the Project. Create and maintain the overall V&V Management Plan.

Your key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Verification and Validation Management and hands-on producing V&V artefacts. Ensuring that the V&V activities are planned and performed in accordance with the CENELEC 50126, 50129 and 50128 life cycle models as well as ensuring that contractual requirements on V&V are fulfilled. Ensuring that the Project’s V&V Organisation fulfils the requirements on Independence.
  • Producing and maintaining V&V Management Plan, System Verification Plan, System Verification Report.
  • Managing the V&V Work Package. Ensuring that budget (hours and cost) is estimated and aligned with overall Systems Assurance budget. Responsibility of planning of System Level V&V activities and that activities and deliverables are followed up on regular (weekly) basis in team meetings (e.g. weekly 6-week look-ahead meetings). Accountability for that all deliverables are delivered to Quality, Time and Cost.
  • Ensuring Verification activities on System and Subsystem Level fully cover all requirements and the intended functionality of the system. Requirements coverage includes coverage of all requirements, included but not limited to functional, performance and non-functional requirements. Enable and support the Work Packages to produce the Verification Plans and Verification Reports for their respective subsystem and ensure a controlled, small positive overlap of verification activities between subsystems and the system.
  • Ensuring the Independent Validator gets all information required in a timely manner. Ensuring all the List of Open Validation Points gets answered in a complete, correct and swift manner.
  • Assist the Systems Assurance Team (and the Safety Team in particular) to produce the relevant parts of the Safety Cases and the Systems Assurance Case Report.
  • Collaborate and support the wider Systems Assurance Team and the Project in general where there is an opportunity.

It is expected you will have the following qualifications, experience and personal characteristics:

  • Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent / higher.
  • Railway knowledge, preferably on Railway Signalling Systems and Operational Control Systems such as Communication Systems, SCADA, PIS/PA, CCTV etc.
  • Knowledge of Verification and Validation of complex systems.
  • 5-10 years’ experience.
  • Experience in producing artefacts for V&V, e.g. V&V Management Plan, Verification Plans and Reports, Validation Plans and Reports.
