An opportunity has emerged for a Geotechnical Engineer to contribute and support the safe and efficient extraction of deposits within the Tech Services team

As a Geotechnical Engineer your core responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining procedures, processes and databases for all geotechnical functions, including ground support, ground deformation monitoring and training
• Geotechnical design and execution experience in the following key areas:
  • Cave Mining
  • Open Stoping
  • Underground monitoring systems & assessment
  • Sub-level caving
• Short and long-term planning
• Collaboration with operational and planning teams
• Apply leading practice geotechnical and mining techniques in the extraction of orebodies

Required Skills & Experience

• Tertiary qualification in mining geotechnical engineering or related discipline
• Knowledge of Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations
• Demonstrated ability to use specialised Geotechnical hardware and software, including Map3D, UnWedge, as well as specialised seismic software packages and mine design software
• Familiar with block/sub-level caving, narrow vein, or open stoping
• Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices
• Good interpersonal skills and business focus
