Our client is a market leading provider of industrial equipment to manufacturing industries throughout Australia. The company maintains an extremely high profile in their market segment and is always on the first call list when clients are looking for new equipment or upgrades.

At this time we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, solutions based Sales Person to sell Packaging Line Equipment to industrial manufacturing and food processing plants ihroughout Melbourne's Eastern Districts.

Your client base will encompass both blue chip companies and developing enterprises and include food, beverage and pharmaceutical producers, as well as the building products, pipe and timber industries etc. Your product offerings will cross a number of technologies and applications as diverse as the day is long, so your new sales opportunities will never be mundane or boring.

On a daily basis you will be charged with managing a loyal client base, assessing new sales opportunities, conducting on site trials and demonstrations, preparing and selling in new tenders and working alongside the State Manager with lager projects and installations. The position will be supported by a strong mentor who is well known in the industry and can assist you on all aspects of the job, be it sales or technical issues. 

This position is ideally suited to an energetic and motivated engineering or mechatronics graduate with 3-5 years selling experience under their belt. However applications by candidates with a similar solutions based sales background such as IT or industrial automation etc, will also be seriously considered.

Success in this role will be ensured by your skill to manage the longer term sales cycle and an ability to build strong and credible client relationships. However it will be your sound knowledge of the capital sales process and your ability to "close the sale" that will be most highly regarded. Ideally you will be able to demonstrate all or most of the following selection criteria:

  • Be technically savvy and comfortable selling both capital equipment and software solutions.
  • Tertiary or trade qualifications in and engineering, mechatronics or electrical discipline.
  • A background in industrial IT networking would advantageous but not essential.
  • You are motivated by success and enjoy working with technical solutions.
  • You can interact with operators and manufacturing staff one minute and making a formal board room presentation the next.
  • You have a keen eye for an opportunity and not shy in raising the subject with a potential client.
