We are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified Electrical Trade Assistant for HV Switchyard, Power Station Shutdown and Power Generation works.
The successful candidate will require sound project management experience to ensure that projects are completed to appropriate technical, work health & safety, environmental, budget, time, statutory and quality standards. This position involves Living Away From Home depending on project location.
Job Summary:
The Electrical Trade Assistant will assist with all activities as directed by the Site Supervisor/Manager and Tradesperson to ensure successful project completion.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Possess general knowledge about specific activity tools, and be able to use them safely.
- Ability to assist Tradesperson on any part of the installation project.
- Ability to assist Tradesperson with reading blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Ability to assist Tradesperson to align machines and equipment, large electrical generators, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometres, lasers, and plumb bobs.
- Ability to assist Tradesperson with dismantling machinery or equipment.
- Ability to assist Tradesperson with moving machinery and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years experience working with Electrical Tradesperson.
- Experience working unsupervised and with minimal instruction.
Desired Characteristics:
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Must work well both independently and in a team environment.
- In-depth safety training a major plus.
Project Details:
- Immediate start
- Full-time
- 60 hours/week, Mon-Sat (10hr/day)
