The opportunity:

Build Run Repair (BRR) is an engineering services business part of the Visy Group of Companies.

BRR offers engineering, procurement, construction management and technical consulting services for the Pulp & Paper, Recycling, Packaging and Waste to Energy industries.

Due to an increase in projects, we have a rare opportunity for an experienced Electrical Projects Engineer to join our highly skilled and knowledgeable multi-disciplinary team of engineers.

This role will be based in Brisbane however travel will be required nationally to support and troubleshoot across our sites, where required.

The role:

Reporting to the General Manager – BRR Australia & Singapore, and working closely with the BRR centralised engineering services team and operations, you will manage from design to installation the electrical aspects of medium to large scale capital projects across multiple Visy sites and Business Units.

Your flexibility, resilience and time management skills is critical as well as your proven experience in running and driving projects from start to finish.

In addition, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing concepts and costings for Projects to enable Capital requests including preparation of scope of works for installation
  • Plans, coordinates, supervise and direct electrical tradesman (including external contractors) for installation, commissioning works and supporting shutdowns across the business.
  • Specify electrical equipment such as switchgear (HV + LV), transformers, generators and motors
  • Prepare documentation for procurement.
  • Prepare documentation for commissioning.
  • Answer technical queries related to the scopes of work.
  • Report on the status of engineering and update schedules and deliverables.
  • Evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
  • Ensuring all appropriate actions are taken to implement and maintain the Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental policy, procedures and legislative requirements.

Experience & Qualifications you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering (Diploma or Electrical Trade accepted).
  • You will be a Registered Electrical Engineer QLD (mandatory)
  • Project Management experience in Industrial setting - Brownfield projects.
  • Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office and CMMS/ERP systems.
  • Experience and expertise in drives, substations and electrical equipment.
  • Understanding of electrical schematics.
