The Operation
Tritton Copper Operations is located near Nyngan in NSW. Tritton Copper Operations has two underground copper mines (Tritton and Murrawombie) and a 1.8 million tonne/yr processing plant. The mines are deep level, high tonnage stoping operations and are currently the largest of its type in NSW.
Our residential roster allows you to be home every night in the town of Nyngan which has a population of 2,000 people, a multitude of shops and sporting activities as well as junior and high schools.

Job Description
The Role
We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work as part of the Maintenance team at Tritton Copper Operations, lead projects underground and in the mill and mentor junior engineers and graduates.
Reporting to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Managing capital and operating projects via effective planning, scheduling, budgeting and supervision to achieve intended benefits
- Technical support for the maintenance department and site
- Responsibility for maintaining the condition of site plant from a safety, productivity and regulatory perspective
- Identify and justify required engineering projects and implement safety, reliability and cost improvements
- Manage Engineering resources (self plus 2 graduate junior engineers) to achieve completion of required improvement projects and achieve proposed improvements
- Review and update the mechanical engineering drawing register and engineering standards
- Leadership of the mechanical engineering function and personnel
- Responsibility for achieving capital projects in line with budgets
- Achieving annual productivity and cost improvement targets through identification and implementation of improvement projects
- Development and coaching of the junior engineers and responsibility for their output
- Regular communication to stakeholders on project progress
About You
- Mechanical engineering degree from a recognised institution
- 10+ Years in a Mining/Heavy Industry Environment
- Leadership of personnel
- Strong work ethic with a hands-on approach, self-starting and productive
- Ability to communicate with and relate to all personnel on site
- Be self-motivated, team orientated with excellent people skills and problem-solving ability
