JOB DESCRIPTION
It is an exciting time for Fujitsu Australia as we have an opportunity for a 12 months contract engagement for a System Development Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the engineering design management, associated gate reviews and approvals.
Scope of the engagement:
- Develop sub-programs, standards, guidelines, and methods for systems design.
- Champion the importance and value of systems design principles and the selection of appropriate systems design lifecycle models; whether predictive (plan-driven) approaches or more adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.
- Develop systems designs requiring introduction of new technologies or re-use for existing technologies and capabilities.
- Design components using appropriate modelling techniques following agreed architectures, design standards, patterns and methodology.
- Identify and evaluate alternative design options and trade-offs.
- Create multiple design views to address the concerns of the different stakeholders of the architecture and to handle both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Produces detailed design specification to form the basis for construction of systems.
- Review, verify and improve designs against specifications
- Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure system-related products and services.
- NV2 Security Clearance or someone that has NV1 and willing to upgrade to NV2
- Demonstrable experience in designing and documenting communications interfaces and interoperability between IT systems.
- Experience working with lead architects to develop the needs and requirements into valid system specifications.
- Ability to analyse requirements in FPS, HLD, Active Network Design and develop technical interface designs that align to Defence patterns
- Develop test and evaluation documentation to provide traceability of the design.
- Participate in working groups to develop interface control agreements with our supporting service providers.
- Technical experience: SOA, API architectures, Networking, XML, SOAP, Storage Me, Microsoft, RHEL, Juniper, Cisco, and MuleSoft
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Research of options
- Above average troubleshooting skills
- Ability to prioritise and working under pressure
