We are expanding our workforce of experienced professionals and have a fantastic new opportunity for an experienced and qualified Interior Designer to join the team. We offer a relaxed professional environment where the successful candidate will be surrounded and supported by an experienced and qualified project team.

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and creative Interior Designer working from our Geebung, Brisbane Queensland head office. This newly created role will support our existing Interior Designer and report to the Managing Directors.

This role is a full-time salary position, working Monday to Friday. The successful candidate must be flexible and available to travel both locally and nationally as required.

In addition to your design tasks, you will also be required to;

  • liaise with the material and product suppliers to understand product ranges and ensure our projects are current in design, while learning about emerging design concepts and trends
  • select finishes and prepare finishes schedules
  • discuss final joinery requirements and produce joinery elevations
  • obtain quotes from suppliers for project furniture, lighting and custom features and products, to ensure our client’s design needs carefully managed throughout.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate must have:

  • Qualification in Interior Design.
  • A minimum of three (3) years working in a similar design role.
  • A high degree of design capability with both Revit and AutoCAD software.
  • Proficiency in use of technology, MS365 Office and the ability to prepare high quality documents and presentations.
  • Knowledge of Building Codes of Australia and the Australian Standards relative to commercial building and interior design requirements.
  • Experience in preparing EOIs, RFQs, tenders and commercial estimates.
  • Proficiency in creating meticulous client briefs and identifying scope change when it occurs.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to organise themselves and others, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and manage continuous change and its consequences effectively.
  • Negotiation skills to manage; scope change, estimates, pricing, manufacturing and installation schedules and deliveries in a detailed and accurate manner.
  • The leadership and management skills to lead and support our construction team from the beginning to the end of a project, to ensure the best build result is delivered in accordance with the estimate and the client’s budget.
