We are looking for a Principal Engineer Structural Assets to lead our Structural Assets team.

This newly created role is a great opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to lead variety of asset management and engineering linked to structural engineering improvement opportunities across our Iron Ore assets. As a recognised subject matter expert within your field, you will lead a dynamic and capable team of technical experts to ensure the long-term asset integrity of our Iron Ore fixed plant assets.

You’ll need to utilise your outstanding ability to partner with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including site based operational leaders, functional leaders, and asset management service providers to deliver complementary solutions to the business.

Reporting to the Manager Fixed Plant & Engineering and working within the Fixed Plant and Engineering team, you will be:

  • Leading a team of technical engineers and advisors to assess and manage risk across our Iron Ore assets
  • Leading the Asset Management Programme for fixed plant structures
  • Ownership of the Structural Engineering Standards for all new and sustaining applications
  • Undertaking technical assurance on capital projects
  • Developing and maintaining internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Providing regular updates on the health of the fixed plant assets to senior leaders

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Experience in design of steel and concrete structures in accordance with Australian standards, with design of mining processing plants highly regarded
  • Experience in asset management of processing plant structures, including the condition of the existing structures
  • Previous leadership experience of engineers
  • Experience in establishing programmes of work for the assurance of Asset integrity

Where you’ll be working

You can take advantage of an ideal combination of working remotely, from home as well as spending face-to-face time with your colleagues on a regular basis at our state-of-the-art Operations Centre (OC) located near the Perth domestic airport. You can also expect the occasional meeting at our head office located at Central Park Building in Perth CBD, with irregular site travel required.
