About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced candidate for a Senior Project Development Engineer/Officer. Reporting to the Team Leader Scoping and Development you will be applying professional judgement to develop road project proposals in accordance with corporate guidelines including development of innovative responses to complex problems. 

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing projects and work within the Scope and Development team to meet the required response and delivery dates for assigned tasks in accordance with DoT nominated timeframes
  • Providing written and verbal advice to key internal and external stakeholders on project proposals
  • Negotiating and influencing key internal and external stakeholders to ensure proposals consider the needs of all stakeholders and are developed within corporate guideline sand timeframes

The position is based in Hume Region (Benalla). Flexibility regarding work location is available with the expectation that that the successful candidate will need to travel occasionally to and through the region.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualification in Engineering or Transport, or demonstrated experience in road project development roles
  • Resourceful and collaborative approach, in order to consider a range of technical inputs and design process
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing proposed programs to determine the compliance with standards and guidelines
  • The ability to provide sound advice, negotiate and influence stakeholders to achieve successful accounts
  • Superior communication skills and confidence decision making

Previous experience relevant to the capabilities of the role is mandatory and will be highly regarded.
