JOB DESCRIPTION
Apprenticeship Careers Australia (ACA) are seeking applications for a Full-time Carpentry Apprentice. This is an opportunity preferably for either a 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice or a new entrant (adult applicants with work site experience are encouraged to apply) to continue in their Apprenticeship with a reputable company on the Central Coast.
The successful applicant will be working with our client, who is a reputable Australian owned, family orientated company founded 2 decades ago. They provide a complete range of construction services to some of the largest property developers in NSW and also, a broad range of services to various NSW Government Departments.
If you are a displaced 2-3rd Year Apprentice Carpenter or you are wanting to broaden your skills for the final year or 2 of your apprenticeship or sick of the travel to Sydney, or if you have some work site experience as a labourer and want to gain a trade qualification then you should apply for this immediate opportunity.
You will be completing a Certificate III in Carpentry, whilst gaining valuable experience in a highly supportive environment with a professional team. The successful candidate will be supported throughout the Apprenticeship, meaning you have on-going mentoring and guidance whilst working and completing your training.
Applicant attributes and requirements:
- Current Drivers Licence and have own transport;
- WHS Card (White Card);
- Be willing to learn all aspects of the trade and listen to instruction;
- Positive attitude and self-motivated;
- A safety-first approach to your work;
- A desire to work hands on with sound communication and maths skills.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Learn all aspects of the Carpentry trade;
- Work on a range of work from luxury apartment developments to commercial works and renovations and maintenance jobs;
- Use Carpentry tools and equipment;
- Handle building materials;
- Learn to read and interpret plans and specifications;
- Carry out measurements and calculations;
- Work in the Central Coast area.
