Position Summary
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The $2.4 billion Parramatta Light Rail will connect Westmead to Carlingford via the Parramatta CBD and Camellia with a 12-kilometre, two-way light rail track. Parramatta Connect (CPB Contractors and Downer EDI Joint Venture) has been engaged by Transport for NSW to complete the construction of the light rail track, roadworks, stop platforms, and transport interchanges at Westmead, Parramatta CBD and Carlingford. Upon its completion the light rail will transport 28,000 people every day to key destinations, new communities and essential services. It is expected to open in 2023.
About The Role
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Civil Site Engineer with rail / track experience to join our Parramatta Light Rail team. You will support the project delivery by ensuring budgetary and programming schedules are met in accordance with contract conditions. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Experience in utility relocations, earthworks, concrete / asphalt pours
- Monitor the Project Plan and record progress against the program.
- Ensure Site Diaries are completed on a daily basis.
- Resolve engineering issues as they arise
- Assist in management of delivery interfaces
- Generate and follow up with close out of Requests for Information
- Participate in milestone design reviews
- Review documentation for construction purposes including verification of standards, codes and specifications
- Support, monitor and review all aspects of the design review process.
- Prepare contractual correspondence
You will have rail and track experience, as well as relevant legislation, commercial and compliance knowledge. reporting procedure processes.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering / Construction
- Rail / track experience (preferred)
- Experience within the rail, transport, construction, mining & resources or engineering industries (project experience) preferable
- Ability to effectively prioritise and manage assigned workload
