About Your Role
This role will give you both formal studies (TAFE) and practical experience as an Electrical Apprentice. Working within the ship repair & maintenance business of Thales Australia, you will be trained in and assist with a range of electrical activities in a diverse technical environment within the maritime field.
- Develop an understanding and skill in using all trade tools and test equipment.
- Be committed to complete apprenticeship studies in a timely manner.
- Learn to work to drawings, wiring diagrams, Manufacturers specifications and relevant standards.
- Learn to complete electrical installations, fault find, test, repair and overhaul electrical equipment related to naval and commercial vessels
- Have completed 1 year of your apprenticeship (advantageous)
- Proactive attitude and keen to become familiar with workshop equipment, machinery and its safe operation
- Willing to undertake multi-skilled activities in all aspects of ship repair and maintenance work
- Willing and able to work within confined spaces and working at heights, supported by all relevant training
- A current NSW White Card (General Construction) is preferred
