Acendre are looking for a talented Engineer to join our DevOps team at our headquarters in Melbourne, Australia. You will have 3 or more years of relevant industry experience. The right person enjoys working as part of a team and would like opportunities to grow and develop their skillset across the board.

To be successful you will be highly motivated to achieve the common goal and have a strong focus on quality. Our people enjoy working as part of a dedicated team and liaising closely with internal stakeholders such as our Engineers and Architects, Product and Marketing teams, Project Managers, Customer Support and Account Managers to deliver our Integrated Talent Management software solution.

The goal of the Acendre engineering team is to delight the company’s customers with high quality SaaS products that deliver the functionality they need. Specifically, the company provides a portfolio of integrated talent acquisition and talent management solutions that encompass online recruitment (sourcing, assessing), on-boarding, performance management, workforce planning, and learning and development.

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Working knowledge of scripting languages, e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python, Node
  • A background in software development or system administration
  • Familiarity with deployment automation frameworks; e.g., Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Rundeck
  • Familiarity with container technologies, specifically Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience in the design, implementation and maintenance of CD/CI pipelines
  • Database experience with MS SQL
  • Exposure to commercial development operations, ideally SaaS.
  • Comfortable with general cloud-computing concepts and services; e.g., AWS, Azure
  • Experience with service and infrastructure monitoring tools
  • Experience with virtualized or Public Cloud environments; e.g., VMware and AWS
  • Experience with security tools; e.g., application and infrastructure scanners
  • Understanding of enterprise level software design and software products
  • An ability to work effectively in a small team environment
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with a creative approach
  • Self-motivated and organized – an ability to work autonomously and with minimal direction
  • Robust communications skills with an open and honest attitude
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to own issues and follow through on solutions and projects
  • High levels of oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions, be organized and work autonomously in a global team
  • Hard worker able to manage deadlines and priorities

Technical Competencies

  • 3+ years administering applications and services, ideally at the SaaS or enterprise level or equivalent demonstrable experienced gained throughout the course of your studies
  • Development with scripting languages
  • Familiarity with current standards in automation technology
  • Understanding of relational database management using Microsoft SQL Server
  • Proven troubleshooting, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with the full software development life cycle; e.g. Agile


  • BS Degree, or studies, in Computer Science, IT
  • Relevant work experience could substitute for educational qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of all cloud-based infrastructure and services
  • Participate in the 24/7 monitoring and resolution response of cloud-based infrastructure and services
  • Help facilitate the deployment of Acendre’s solution to the Cloud
  • Development of new automation and deployment processes and technologies in a highly scalable SaaS offering
  • Perform security oriented Continuous Monitoring activities supporting Acendre’s compliance initiatives
  • Assist in the identification and solution of business problems including supporting business requirements for availability and resilience across applications for various systems and platforms
  • Participate in all phases of the DevOps development life cycle including creating technical designs, automation code, test plans, verifying test results, and deployment
  • Follow standard industry design practices and policies
