The Position: 
Resource Services Group X are currently seeking an experienced Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) to carry out cost control on existing projects whilst assisting with the setup and cost control on future projects.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced PQS who is pro-active, a good communicator and is proficient at working independently.
This position shall predominantly be site based (FIFO) in the Pilbara region in Western Australia, however regular periods of work shall be required from the RSGx office in Perth CBD.

Key duties will include;

  • Commercial Management of projects
  • Contraction Management of projects
  • Preparation of budgets and contracts for subcontracted packages
  • Preparation of budget reconciliations (matching estimate details with scope of works for self-perform works and subcontracted packages)
  • Day to day cost control – maintaining costs and cost codes in cost control system
  • Allocation of budget to contract schedule line items according to WBS
  • Setting up estimate in cost system
  • Onsite Change Capture
  • Change management and Trending
  • Forecast variance Analysis
  • Accounts Payable support
  • Cost reviews with Client
  • Weekly and Monthly Reporting
  • Client Reporting and duties as required
  • Claims and Dispute resolution
  • Final account negotiations / agreements

The Person: 
As the successful candidate you will have:


  • Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Quantity Surveying – with Professional Status attained (PQS)
  • Experience in Project Controls - Cost of Scheduling
  • Experience in a wide range of roles from development appraisals to tendering to construction accounting to final account agreement
  • Experience with Cost Control Systems
  • Deep understanding of Scheduling and how Cost Control aligns with Scheduling
  • Expert level Microsoft Suite skills
  • Collaborative communication style with the ability to work effectively as a member of a team as well as the ability to work autonomously
  • High level of self-discipline, self-motivation; energy and initiative
  • Resilient and fast paced.
