About the role

Alexandrina Council is searching for a qualified, enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join our team in the position of Building Services Officer. Under the direction of the Contracts Superintendent, the Building Services Officer Will ensure Councils programmed maintenance of its buildings and structures throughout our council region are actioned efficiently and effectively contributing to achieving Council's corporate and community goals. This position will act as a mentor and coach, leading and guiding trainees and other staff and actively promote a culture of positive Work Health and Safety

About you

The successful applicant will demonstrate a high degree of initiative and judgement, will be adaptable, versatile and have a natural ability to manage changing work environments. You will have highly developed time management and organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. You must have demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders. You will have an eagerness to learn new skills and want to develop those skills. Your pride yourself on your eye for detail and attention to high-quality workmanship.

You will also have:

  • Competency in the operation, maintenance and management of carpentry equipment and plant
  • Demonstrated experience in reading and supervising staff including negotiation, conflict resolution and information sharing
  • Ability to read, interpret and implement engineering, building and architectural drawings with regard to the asset and infrastructure development
  • Current Builders Supervisors licence
  • Drivers licence
  • Competent use of computer applications and software
